Run Minnesota offers a variety of free and paid training groups to help you make the most of your running and help contribute to building a strong community of Minnesota runners.
Run Minnesota offers free community runs including the Polar Bears, Track Thursdays, the Como Park Relays and more. These runs are great for runners of all ages and abilities.
Run Minnesota offers paid training groups in the Winter, Spring and Summer with biweekly supported group runs on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings for those preparing for various local and regional races ranging from 5K through the Marathon.
The seasonal training groups are great for beginning runners through seasoned veterans. These programs offer both in-person and virtual training programs with multiple levels of mileage, a certified coaching staff, supported runs with water and electrolytes, group camaraderie, educational events and more to help you arrive on race day ready to reach your goals.

Dates/Times: Saturdays at 7am from Nov 1st, 2025 through March 14th, 2026
Locations: Various locations rotating between Minneapolis and St. Paul. Register to see the full Polar Bears Schedule and stay up-to-date on run info.
Levels: All levels from beginners through veteran runners. Distances of 3-10+ miles each week. Paces range from 7-12+ minutes per mile.
Purpose: The goal of these runs is to keep you accountable with running in the offseason, to build community and enjoy the wintertime running season.
Group workout on the Lock & Dam hill in early Spring 2025.
Dates/Times: Thursdays at 6pm from March 5th through April 30th, 2026
Location: Lock & Dam #1 in Minneapolis, MN which is located near the Ford Parkway Bridge.
Levels: All levels from beginners through veteran runners. Total run distances range from 2-8mi each session. Hill repeats are completed as a group on the Lock & Dam hill with varied distances and workouts each week. These workouts will generally coincide with the seasonal Spring and Summer Run Minnesota Training.
Purpose: Build strength on the hills to help you stay fit or prepare for Spring and Summer races and/or future track workouts.
